These units by APC allow you to remotely power cycle devices using just your web-browser. Ideal for remote data centers or for after-hours support when a server, firewall or other network device has locked up and needs to be power cycled.
Using an HTTPS connection over standard Ethernet, you can view the status of each outlet on the PDU and power cycle each one independently, or configure outlet groups (for servers with redundant power supplies, for example) to power cycle multiple outlets simultaneously.
Hosting providers will like the ability the to create unique URLs for each individual outlet and assign separate user accounts for each outlet or outlet group. This allows you to give your dedicated server clients the ability to remotely power cycle their servers, eliminating the need for that common support call.
The units also feature built-in email notification to alert you to hacking attempts, power overloads, power cycling and any other activity that you care to know about.
These 1U units are rack mountable and come with a generous 12' long hefty power cord.
